New rules for visiting Tsukiji Market
|
On May 10, the tuna auction observation area of Tokyo's Tsukiji Market was reopened to the general public, and at the same time new visitation rules were put into effect as follows.
* A maximum of 140 visitors per day are allowed entry to tuna auction.
Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The rule that visitors are not permitted to enter the market's wholesale area until after 9:00am is still in effect.
Tsukiji Market is a place of business, and visitors are asked to take care and show consideration so as not to disturb any of the market's day to day activities.
