Iwate Prefecture Tourism recently relaunched their foreign language website - A Trip to Iwate - in step with changing travel trends in the region.
The website is now designed to cater to FIT and small group travelers. It has a wealth of information about the prefecture’s sightseeing attractions and accommodation properties.
Located in the beautiful north eastern region of Honshu, Iwate Prefecture is home to Hachimantai National Park, the famous Buddhist temples and gardens of Hiraizumi, and several ski resorts including Appi.
Speaking of Iwate, East Japan Railway Company (JR East) is currently running an Explore Iwate with the JR EAST PASS campaign in conjunction with the prefecture. JR East Pass holders will receive a special gift when they present their JR East Pass at one of the three tourist information centres in Iwate Prefecture. Stocks are limited and the campaign finishes when all gifts are given away.
